Susan Mitchell graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a degree in drawing and painting and in 1994 she emigrated to Montreal, Canada, where she now lives with her husband, children's author P.J. Bracegirdle and son, Ewan. A widely published illustrator of children's picture books, Susan began making her 'little poppets' as a hobby in the evenings but has now seen them brought to life in their very own series, about which she is delighted! Paula Metcalf is a hugely talented picture book creator who was Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize for Illustration in 2003. Paula is the author and illustrator of several books for Macmillan, including the brilliantly funny NORMA SNOWS (978-0-230-53177-2) and PODDY AND FLORA (978-0-230-70736-8). In 2008 Paula became the first Illustrator-in-Residence at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, where she held illustration and story-writing workshops.
